Oregon Beer Rules the World

One of my favorite blogs to read is The Beer Here, an insightful commentary about the local microbrew scene from Oregonian reporter John Foyston. Did you know Portland boasts more breweries per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.? Lucky for us, we have incredible quality accompanying that large quantity, and the love of great beer making extends across the entire state.

Most recently, Deschutes Brewery (Bend), Rogue Ales (Newport) and BridgePort Brewing Company (Portland) won recognition at the European Beer Star Awards in Germany. Deschutes came away with three gold medals for its Bachelor ESB, Obsidian Stout, and Black Butte Porter. Pick up a six-pack next time you're at the grocery store to check out these fine brews yourself.

Cheers to Oregon beers!

How Could Starbucks BE More "Mine"

Since becoming pregnant and finding ways to justify most every craving (and because I've finally done the math), I realized I'm now spending approximately $200 a month at our corner Starbucks. I decided it's probably about time I get to design "My Card" to carry my bagel, breakfast sandwich, Odwalla Orange Juice and sometimes coffee funds!

And even though I was overcome with holiday cheer, almost in a bad way, this morning I have nothing but fondness for the 'bucks...and now I can add "creative outlet" to the list of things it provides for me.

I only wish the program would let you upload your own photos...perhaps in time. Check it out!

This spirited, open forum by Maxwell PR staff members, studio mates and colleagues features people who are, in our opinion, doing the right things to get people talking. You'll see us rave about organizations building communities and rant about those who are missing obvious opportunities. We sprinkle in a little marketing and PR rhetoric from time to time for extra vigor and enthusiasm, and will share observations and insight based on our own experience honing our craft every day.
